The history of Air Cuba

Air Cuba is the official cuban company on Airlines-Manager. The company Air Cuba had been created on December 7th 1937. The first verse of Air Cuba was "Líneas Aéreas Cubanas del Oeste" (LACO). The reason of this name is quite simple; the company was based at Havana's airport, at the west of the country. The aircrafts of this time were news DC-3. The LACO had always been the luxury airline of Cuba. In the 40's, passangers had access to exotics drinks offered in the airplane's bars. Despite the Cuban Revolution on 1959, the LACO stayed. Twenty-five years later, the name had been changed to become Air Cuba.

The fiability of our aircrafts had always been the priority, with the luxury, as wanted the founder of the LACO in 1937. Our airplanes are always among the most modern of the industry.
